How to Ethically Be the Envy of All
What if you could own denim that would be the envy of all your friends? First, let’s take a step back.
Since M&J’s inception, we’ve stood apart from most of the fashion and home goods industries because of our innovative supply chain methods. Montie & Joie’s origin was not like any traditional fashion brand where a collection is inspired, drafted, and planned out before going out to look for fabric suppliers and manufacturers to work with. Instead, M&J was reverse engineered when Sydney, the daughter-founder, discovered a team of talented artisans that deserved a spotlight in the online marketplace. The hand embroidered patches that these artisans were able to create were not producing fair wages for them, until Sydney chose to change this narrative to create fashion pieces that can make you the envy of all.
By definition, a supply chain is the sequence of processes involved in the production and distribution of a commodity. M&J’s supply chain is different from the traditional fashion industry in the following ways:
Sustainability Above All
Fair Wages
At M&J we have placed fair wages above all else. Improving life conditions for our artisans is one of the main reasons M&J was created. It’s very common for fashion collection designers to search for the best-priced material. This is not necessarily a bad thing, although sadly, sweatshops are often involved in the process to create the cheap material. Not so with M&J, we place our artisans’ work conditions and life improvement as a top priority.
